A college campus visit is one of the most important steps in a student's college decision — and one of the most logistically demanding for the group organizing it. Whether a high school guidance department is running a busload of juniors through Michigan's public universities, a college access program is taking first-generation students on their first campus tours, or a family is visiting several schools over a long weekend, a charter bus (https://holidaycoach.com/services/charter-bus) from Holiday Coach keeps the entire group together, on schedule, and comfortable. Holiday Coach Company, headquartered in Coopersville, Michigan, has run college tour charters for more than two decades. Our fleet serves every major Michigan campus — the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (https://holidaycoach.com/destinations/ann-arbor-mi), Michigan State University in East Lansing (https://holidaycoach.com/destinations/lansing-mi), Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo (https://holidaycoach.com/destinations/kalamazoo-mi), Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids (https://holidaycoach.com/destinations/grand-rapids-mi), Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Ferris State, Hope College, Calvin University, and community colleges across the state — plus out-of-state destinations like Notre Dame, Ohio State, and the University of Chicago. ## Why Charter a Bus for College Tours **Group cohesion.** A campus visit is more valuable when students experience it together. A charter bus lets counselors debrief between campuses, answer questions on the ride, and keep the group energized. No one gets lost in traffic or separated across a dozen rideshares. **On-time arrivals.** Admissions offices run tight tour schedules. Our professional CDL drivers and 24/7 dispatch coordinate pickup times, campus staging areas, and traffic patterns so your group arrives before the tour starts — every time. **Cost efficiency.** A single motorcoach carrying 40-56 students and chaperones is dramatically cheaper per person than individual cars or flights, freeing budget for more campus visits. **Comfort and study time.** Climate control, WiFi, reclining seats, and onboard restrooms let students rest, review materials, or snack between campuses. Long-distance tours to out-of-state schools become productive travel time. ## Popular College Tour Itineraries - **Michigan public university loop:** Ann Arbor → East Lansing → Kalamazoo in a single day - **West Michigan campus day:** Grand Rapids (GVSU) → Holland (Hope College) → Kalamazoo (WMU) - **Out-of-state weekend:** Northwestern → University of Chicago → Notre Dame - **First-generation campus tour:** Full-day single-campus immersion with admissions, financial aid, and student life sessions ## Planning a College Tour Charter 1. **Count your group.** Students plus chaperones plus any parents — we size the vehicle accordingly. 2. **Map your campuses and timing.** Most groups fit two campuses per day; ambitious groups can do three. 3. **Coordinate with admissions offices.** Confirm tour start times and bus staging/parking at each campus. 4. **Plan meals.** Onboard storage and restrooms make boxed-lunch stops easy between campuses. 5. **Book early.** Spring campus visit season fills vehicles weeks in advance.
