School music programs face a transportation challenge unlike any other student group. A marching band traveling to a competition brings dozens of students, plus uniforms, color guard equipment, drum lines, large brass and percussion instruments, and a chaperone team — all of which need to arrive together, on time, and in performance-ready condition. A charter bus (https://holidaycoach.com/services/charter-bus) from Holiday Coach is the transportation solution Michigan music directors trust. Holiday Coach Company, based in Coopersville, Michigan, has transported school bands, choirs, and orchestras to competitions, festivals, and performances for over two decades. Our fleet of late-model motorcoaches and mini-coaches serves every major Michigan music event — MSBOA festivals, MCBA marching band championships, solo-and-ensemble events, and out-of-state regional competitions. ## Why Music Programs Choose Charter Bus Travel **Instrument-safe transport.** Our motorcoaches feature large, climate-controlled underfloor luggage bays that protect tubas, drum kits, timpani, and delicate instruments from weather and impact. Overhead bins hold smaller instruments, music folders, and uniforms. **Group cohesion.** A band or choir performs better when it travels together. Shared travel time builds ensemble morale, lets directors run last-minute rehearsals, and ensures the entire group arrives at the venue simultaneously. **On-time, stress-free arrival.** Music competitions run on strict schedules. Our professional CDL drivers and 24/7 dispatch coordinate venue staging, traffic, and parking so your ensemble is never late to warm-up. **Multi-day capability.** For out-of-state festivals and national championships, our coaches handle overnight travel with onboard restrooms, WiFi, and reclining seats — keeping students comfortable across long distances. ## Music Events We Serve - **MSBOA and MSVMA festivals** across Michigan - **MCBA marching band championships** and regional Invitationals - **Solo & ensemble events** at host schools statewide - **Out-of-state regional and national competitions** (Bands of America, national choir festivals) - **Community parade performances** and holiday concert tours ## Planning a Music Program Charter 1. **Inventory instruments and equipment.** Large percussion and color guard gear determines luggage bay needs. 2. **Count students, directors, and chaperones.** We size the vehicle — or dispatch a convoy for full marching bands. 3. **Confirm competition schedules.** Share warm-up and performance times so we build the staging plan. 4. **Plan uniform transport.** Garment bags ride in luggage bays; students board in travel clothes. 5. **Book early.** Fall marching band season and spring festival season fill vehicles months ahead.
